v Annan (01/12/18)

Funny kind of game. Good start with an early goal and we dominated the rest of the first half but seemed to forget our shooting boots again.

Second half Annan were mostly in control and maybe you would think it was the midweek game catching up until you realise Annan also played in midweek.

Strange penalty decision as well. Appeared to be for either an off the ball incident involving Jason or maybe Jason blocking the run of an Annan player. Can't recall ever seeing a penalty given when the ball was so far away from the box though.

However, the apparent injustice of the penalty did spur us on to get a winner. Three points again but we're still not firing on all cylinders - good play at times, poor at other times and not hitting the net enough.

Need to step it up a notch if we're going to catch / pass Edinburgh.

Said much the same elsewhere, think we really need to be able to defend further up the park, we have more experienced defenders who should be able to organize a line to cut down having to cover such a big area by pushing out and catching teams offside rather than falling back to our own box. Most games we are having to score at least twice to win Cutting down the length of the pitch would also keep our midfield & attack closer together which might help the strikers as well. Montrose last year & to an extent Edinburgh this year can get by winning 1-0 quite a lot but is not possible if always giving soft goals away.
